Evening and Weekend Appointments Available Upon Request. My amplifier stopped working and I took it to Todd for repair - Todd found a component that was an incorrect value and replaced it with one with the correct spec and also replaced a fuse that had blown - he also went through the amp and cleaned up the connections. He detailed the troubleshooting and all of his work on the invoice! (which I really appreciated)Todd has many years of experience repairing musical amplifiers and other components and would highly recommend him for anyone needing their gear serviced! I bought a vintage classical guitar that was beaten up through massive use, but was a truly lovely instrument ($5000 plus originally). I badly screwed up pulling off a plastic coating from the face of the guitar.
It needed totally refinishing with real French polish. Michael Norton not only refinished the instrument, but he wasn't satisfied with the result and went back and started over from scratch and refinished it again. It took him FAR more hours than I had paid him for, but as he said 'I promised you a good job, and I wasn't pleased with how it had turned out'.
It now looks and plays beautifully, and is my most favorite guitar. There are very few TRUE artisans these days, but this person is honestly EXCEPTIONAL. I had hunted around before contacting Michael and his price was very competitive with other instrument refinishers. Only the highest possible praise from me. The keys were sticking on my 80 year old grand piano and it was way out of tune.
Our move from Michigan to Texas apparently caused all the keys to swell a bit, so no one had been playing it. It had been rebuilt just before the move so the strings were stretchy as well. Ty knew what to do, and gave it an initial tune and made an appointment to repair the keys. On the second visit, he was in and out in about 2-1/2 hours having reworked all of the keys and tuned the strings a second time. The action and sound are superb now. Ty is courteous and a true professional. I trust him implicitly with this family heirloom and will have him back for future tunings.
